Longboat Arms

Longboat Arms – our touch of paradise – was built in 1971 comprising 45 units across two main buildings. There are 24 units in the “C” building, and 21 units in the “D” building. We’re located at 3300-3330 Gulf of Mexico Drive, almost right in the middle of our 10.8 mile-long barrier island, Longboat Key. Longboat Arms is advantageously located close to every life and leisure convenience that the surrounding area has to offer. See What’s Close to Longboat Arms for more details.

Features at Longboat Arms include a clubhouse and tennis court, plus deeded direct beach access just across Gulf of Mexico Drive (GMD). Then, we have a community grill area adjacent to our lovely swimming pool which recently underwent a complete upgrade. Then construction of a new seawall completed improvement of the NE point and boat docks area. Also, regular maintenance of the condos’ residential buildings is all-important with new roofs in 2017 and complete exterior painting in 2020.

Our residents have access to a newly restored private boat ramp for canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, jet skis, and similar watercraft. Then there are few boat docks also available for an annual fee.

The initial Carports reconstruction project is complete! Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and supply chain problems, we experienced many delays. The good news is that the carports are open for use effective April 26, 2022. Please visit the Carports page for a comprehensive review, including over 1,200 photos, and a couple of drone fly-over videos of the project from the beginning.

What’s Close to Longboat Arms? Just about everything you need! Location is a major factor working for Longboat Arms as an attractive Longboat Key destination.

The Beach

Looking South

First, shopping is easily accessible 1 mile south of Longboat Arms at the Shoppes of Bay Isles at Bay Isles Parkway and includes a Publix Super Market and liquor store, CVS Drug Store, banks, and LBK fitness center. Longboat Key town hall, public tennis courts, the local LBK post office, and the LBK library are near there as well.

The Turtle Coffee Bar is 0.2 miles south – across from The Diplomat Beach Resort, and Restaurant Maison Blanche is 1 mile south at the Four Winds Resort. Restaurants further south are The Dry Dock Waterfront Grill 3.9 miles. The Chart House 4.2 miles, The New Pass Grill and Bait Shop 4.6 miles, and The Old Salty Dog 4.7 miles are also close.

Then there’s St. Armands Circle 5.6 miles south – an island shopping center separated from the mainland by Sarasota Bay. Unique in concept, history, and beauty, it’s unforgettable to visitors worldwide. This enchanting circle of fine shops and over 20+ dining options and restaurants are set in a tropical paradise. Looking North

Next, about 1 mile north of Longboat Arms, Bayfront Park Recreation Center provides affordable leisure and recreational sports, organized sports leagues and activities, educational programs, cultural classes and seminars, social functions, and special events for all ages and interests.

Some of the amenities found at Bayfront Park Recreation Center are a 1,350 square-foot activity room, basketball court, shuffleboard courts, picnic tables, playgrounds, a multi-purpose ball field for soccer and softball, a Kayak Launch and storage, pickleball and tennis courts, and a dog park!

Longboat Arms is also close in proximity to The Centre Shops, located a short 3 miles north. The Centre Shops of Longboat Key is one of three major retail centers on the island and includes Tyler’s Gourmet Ice Cream Shop, the Lazy Lobster, the Blue Dolphin Cafe, and La Norma restaurants, retailers, a UPS Store, and medical and professional offices.

Other restaurants include Euphemia Haye and the Haye Loft 3.2 miles north, Solorzano’s Pizzeria and La Villa Mexican Grill 3.6 miles north, and Harry’s Continental Kitchens, and Harry’s Deli 4 miles north.

The Cedars Tennis Resort & Club 3.6 miles north has a fitness center membership option.

Finally, further north on the island about 5.3 miles – just south of Broadway, you’ll find Whitney Beach Plaza which includes Long Beach Cafe and Ventura’s Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar (formerly the Bayou Tavern) restaurants, a fitness center , and a liquor store. Nearby, the Mar-Vista and Shore restaurants are located at the east end of Broadway. And don’t forget about our newest arrival at GMD & Broadway, Whitney’s.

C building mansards prep is done. D building mansards prep begins Thursday May 25. The “Blue Stuff” is Polyglass TU Max High Temperature Underlayment. Some inspections need to happen before mansards metal roofing install starts later next week!

D building mansards prep is done! They had a little more plywood replacement on D than on C. We had some excitement this morning when falling debris tripped the fire alarm switch by 101D. The “Blue Stuff” is Polyglass TU Max High Temperature Underlayment. Some inspections need to happen before mansards metal roofing install starts later next week!
